At Apex WorkForce Partners, your safety on assignment is a top priority. Whether you’re working in a warehouse, manufacturing plant, distribution center, or an office environment, we want to ensure that every candidate we place understands the importance of workplace safety and knows their rights and responsibilities.
Accidents can often be avoided when safety protocols are followed and conditions are regularly monitored. Here’s what you need to know to stay safe and informed across different work environments.
Our Commitment to You
We aim to match you with assignments that align with your skills, training, and experience — and just as importantly, ensure those workplaces are safe, well-managed, and properly supervised.
While the company you are assigned to is primarily responsible for your day-to-day safety, we will ensure you’re informed about relevant safety policies and procedures before you begin work. If anything is unclear, our team is always available to provide clarification and support.
Your Safety Responsibilities on Assignment
To protect yourself and your coworkers, please remember to:
- Follow all posted safety rules, procedures, and instructions from your on-site supervisor.
- Familiarize yourself with emergency exits, assembly points, and first aid resources.
- Immediately report any unsafe conditions, equipment malfunctions, or potential hazards.
- Avoid tasks you have not been trained or authorized to perform.
- Use equipment, tools, chemicals, and protective gear properly and as instructed.
- Contact Apex WorkForce Partners right away if you’re asked to perform duties outside your original job description or if you feel your environment is unsafe.
Reporting an Incident or Injury
If you’re involved in an accident or near-miss while on assignment — no matter how minor — please follow these steps:
- Notify your on-site supervisor immediately.
- Seek first aid or medical attention if needed.
- Contact your Apex representative as soon as possible after the incident.
- Keep us updated on any ongoing symptoms, medical treatment, or time away from work.
If in doubt, stop work and reach out to your supervisor or our team for guidance.
General Workplace Safety Tips
- Only operate machinery or equipment you’ve been trained and authorized to use.
- Keep walkways, work areas, and emergency exits clear at all times.
- Never block fire doors or safety equipment.
- Report damaged furniture or faulty office equipment — never attempt to repair it yourself.
- Use caution when opening filing cabinets — one drawer at a time.
- Pay attention to safety signage and restricted access zones.
Proper Ergonomics for Office Assignments
- Sit fully back in your chair and adjust the backrest for lumbar support.
- Organize your desk space before starting work.
- Adjust your seat height and monitor angle to maintain good posture.
- Keep wrists straight while typing and use a footrest if necessary.
Safe Lifting & Carrying Guidelines
- Don’t lift more than you can handle comfortably — ask for help when needed.
- Use carts, dollies, or lifting tools when available.
- Keep heavy items close to your body and bend with your knees, not your back.
- Make sure your path is clear before moving a load.
- Always grip items securely with your whole hand.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
If your assignment requires safety gear — such as gloves, helmets, eye protection, or reflective vests — it’s critical that it’s used correctly. Take care of your equipment and notify your on-site supervisor immediately if anything becomes damaged or needs replacing.
Your Safety is Our Priority
No job is more important than your well-being. At Apex WorkForce Partners, we’re committed to making sure that every assignment is handled with a strong focus on safety, communication, and compliance.
If you ever feel unsafe or unsure on-site, contact us right away — we’re here to advocate for you.
